Just a Matter of Counting Sheep and Animal Welfare

Automated video analytics has been widely used for video surveillance and large crowd events for safety and security measures. In the livestock industry, animal counting and welfare protection is a nationwide issue. The UTS Multimedia Data Analytics Lab led by A/Prof Jian Zhang is developing advanced video analytics technologies for sheep counting and animal welfare protection.
