Blak Market National Indigenous NAIDOC Art Fair is a festival that celebrates the artistic and cultural practices of Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. This major event took place at Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal from June 30–July 1, 2018 and was attended by over 13,000 guests.
First Hand Solutions Aboriginal Corporation, the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and Future Method Studio organised the event production, hosting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists from 22 remote Aboriginal arts centres and more than 30 local practitioners. The exhibition design, way-finding and graphic design strategies were developed and executed by the UTS team in collaboration with Future Method Studio.
This event received coverage from over 30 news and media organisations and was supported by NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency Destination NSW, in partnership with the Port Authority of NSW and Leadlease.
