DAB Students and graduates awarded at Annual Prizegiving Ceremony
The UTS annual Prize Giving Ceremony for the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Building was held on Wednesday 14 May. Together with industry, the Faculty celebrated students and graduates who have demonstrated exceptional ability and achievements, awarding over 40 prizes and scholarships worth a total of over $60,000.
Bachelor of Design in Industrial Design graduate James Taylor was one of the recipients, presented with the Jack Greenland Travelling Scholarship. The award sponsored by Dr John (J) Greenland entails up to $2500 towards international travel, and is intended to encourage students to explore the area of environmentally sustainable development.
Says Taylor, “I was thrilled when I learned that I’d won the scholarship, and it’s such a great thing to be acknowledged for my research and hard work.
At the moment, I'm working as an Industrial Designer at a sustainable energy company, and I'd love to develop myself further by working overseas in San Jose to pursue jobs creating technology for millions of people around the world to enjoy.”
Taylor’s travels will take him to Chile, Argentina, Peru and Brazil to observe and research the area of urban transportation and the many difficulties the region faces in this area.
