About Doron

Find out more

Bachelor of Construction Project Management

Doron, a Development Manager with Mirvac’s Residential Development team in Sydney, is as passionate about his work as he is about his interests outside the office. When he isn’t overseeing significant construction projects, he loves to travel, enjoy good food, and spend time with family and friends, which he finds essential for maintaining balance and bringing fresh ideas into his professional life.

Studying at UTS

Doron graduated with a Bachelor of Construction Project Management completing his studies between 2017 and 2020. UTS appealed to him because of its compulsory requirement for practical work experience, an indication of the university’s strong industry connections and commitment to preparing students for real-world success. Additionally, UTS’s central location in the heart of Sydney made it both accessible and an ideal choice for his studies.

The real-world exposure allowed him to apply his education practically, build confidence, and establish early connections within the industry.

Starting in the Construction Industry

Doron began his career in construction through a cadetship opportunity he discovered on the UTS Jobs Bulletin board. Roberts Co, then known as Roberts Pizzarotti, was hiring cadets, and the position allowed him to gain valuable hands-on experience while still in university. Although his goal was to transition into property development, he saw the cadetship to establish a solid foundation in construction and gain critical industry knowledge.

From Cadet to Intern

Doron’s time as a cadet at Roberts Co was instrumental in shaping his career. Working on the Concord Hospital Redevelopment for two years allowed him to learn from an experienced team and understand the intricacies of a construction management environment. His internship at Mirvac further clarified his professional interests, giving him exposure across various areas and enabling him to focus on what he truly enjoys. Together, these roles provided a solid foundation for his development in the industry.

Life as a Development Manager at Mirvac

As a Development Manager at Mirvac, Doron is currently leading work on the Harbourside Residences project at Darling Harbour. Upon completion, this ambitious development will feature 263 luxury apartments, over 7,200 square meters of retail space, 27,100 square meters of commercial offices, and 10,200 square meters of public open space.

In his role, Doron maintains a holistic view of the project, managing financial feasibility, design, sales, marketing, and construction throughout the project’s life cycle. Mirvac’s integrated business model has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of each project phase, which has been instrumental in his professional growth.

Professional Milestones and Achievements

Doron has been honoured with several significant achievements in his career. In 2023, he was elected to the UDIA Young Leaders Committee, an initiative focused on developing future industry leaders. He was also selected for Mirvac’s 2024 Amplify Programme for Future Leaders, which he considers a crucial opportunity for his professional growth and a testament to his contributions within the company.

Advice for Future Construction Management Students

For students considering or currently pursuing Construction Project Management at UTS, Doron offers valuable insights drawn from his experience:

I would strongly recommend the Bachelor of Construction Project Management at UTS to anyone interested in property or construction careers. The project management skills you'll develop are highly transferable, opening doors across various sectors of the industry.
