Scribe / Reader
Provision of Scribes and Readers for tests and examinations:
- Scribes and readers are recruited and trained by the Accessibility Service and employed by the Accessibility Service for Faculty-based exams and employed by SAU Examinations for Centrally-conducted exams.
- Scribes and Readers are also trained as Exam Supervisors and undertake both roles for Faculty-based exams.
- Scribes and Readers do not undertake exam supervisor roles for centrally-conducted exams as Exam Supervisors are provided in additional to scribe / readers, as separate roles.
- As far as possible, scribes and readers are allocated to the same or similar discipline in which the student is studying.
- The role of the scribe is to write, verbatim, as is instructed by the student.
- The role of the reader is to read the exam paper and any related allowable documents, as instructed by the student.
