In the second episode of our podcast series Double Take, Derek talks to media lawyer Michael Bradley about the action Senator Mehreen Faruqi is bringing against Senator Pauline Hanson under the Racial Discrimination Act (RDA). Michael is representing Senator Faruqi against Senator Hanson who is challenging the validity of parts of the RDA. Michael also discusses Heston Russell’s defamation action against the ABC which will be the first major test of the public interest defence, as well as his early representation of Private Media in Lachlan Murdoch’s since-abandoned action against a column in Crikey.
