AI-Powered Research Collaboration wins 2024 ANZ Sports Technology Award
The renowned 2024 Australia and New Zealand Sports Technology Award (ANZSTA) in the category of "Esports and Gaming" has been awarded to VADR Media for its innovative AI-powered assistant, "Sixth-i CoPilot". Developed in collaboration with the Australian Artificial Intelligence Institute (AAII), Sixth-i CoPilot is a cutting-edge system designed to detect and prevent cheating on the online chess platform, Checkmate.live.
The ANZSTA, presented by Australian Sports Technologies Network (ASTN), honors outstanding achievements in technology, data, and digital solutions across the landscape of Sports, Media, Entertainment, Health, and Technology.
VADR Media partnered with AAII in early 2024 to address the critical challenge of cheating in online chess. Led by Associate Professor Nabin Sharma, with team members Gribesh Dhakal and Garvit Khera (Master of Artificial Intelligence graduates), Professor Ling Chen and Associate Professor Guodong Long, the project gathered expertise in computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, and multi-model. Their award-winning achievement highlights AAII’s commitment to using advanced AI techniques to solve real-world problems.
