Director's message
Each year, ARCCIM builds upon a solid track record of success in generating and conducting research focusing on traditional, complementary and integrative medicine (TCIM). ARCCIM houses the only coordinated international research program dedicated to establishing and promoting the rigorous, critical study of TCIM as a core topic of national and international public health and global health scholarship and thinking.
ARCCIM is also the only such group in the word investing in future research growth and capacity across academic and practitioner ranks, providing international leadership, facilitating research engagement and growing a vibrant research culture in this area of health and health care research. Our team is mentoring the best and brightest future research leaders from a vast range of disciplinary perspectives and methodological training via our unique suite of international research leadership programs.
Running through all our research engagement and activity is a commitment to explore the opportunities and challenges of TCIM and self-care use amongst vulnerable and under-served communities. We focus on developing the implementation and translation of research findings into practice and policy improvement.
The ARCCIM research program has grown over many years to include a wealth of initiatives spanning the globe. We are truly proud to be leading such a talented, world-class research team.
We invite you to not only explore and enjoy our website, but also check out the ARCCIM video showcasing our mission and activities as introduced by our Co-Director (Prof Jon Adams).
Through our work at ARCCIM, we are shaping practice advances and helping realise healthier communities. We invite you to join us in achieving these goals.
