Co-founded by Shanghai University (SHU) and University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in 1994, SILC Business School, Shanghai University was one of the earliest Sino-foreign joint business schools in China.

About SILC

Recommended by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission as the first experimental unit for accreditation of Sino-foreign joint education, SILC:

  • was the first Sino-foreign education institute to be accredited by the National Education Assessment Agency in 2006;
  • was named one of the top ten best Sino-foreign joint education institutes by China Education and Research Network in 2009;
  • has been named one of the top ten most influential Sino-foreign joint education institutes by Sina and Xinhuanet for five consecutive years since 2010;
  • became a member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 2013.The Eligibility Application was accepted by AACSB in 2014, with Business School accreditation gained in 2020;
  • received public commendation from Shanghai Municipal Education Commission for Sino-foreign joint education institutes (programs) in 2016.

We offer a range of options to students from the Shanghai campus that feature leading academics from SILC, the broader UTS Business School faculty, and from around the world.

Scholarships for SILC students

UTS endeavours to reward achievement and recognise motivation to succeed. The university is also committed to supporting students experiencing financial hardship and/or other educational disadvantages.

UTS is proud to award scholarships to its students every year and offers four categories of scholarships specifically for SILC students:

  • Bachelor Degree Transfer Scholarship – For Shanghai University Dual Bachelor Degree students and SILC Pathway Program graduates to study one or two sessions in Year Two of the Bachelor of Business (C10226) at UTS Sydney campus.
  • SHU Dual Master Degree Scholarship – For the Master of Accounting and Master of Finance pathway cohort at SILC admitted into the Master of Finance or Master of Professional Accounting at UTS Sydney campus.
  • Bachelor to Master Degree Scholarship – For UTS and Shanghai University Dual Bachelor degree and UTS Bachelor graduates at SILC admitted into a Master degree by coursework program at UTS Sydney campus.
  • Bachelor of Business Full Award Scholarship – For Shanghai University Dual Bachelor Degree students and SILC Pathway Program graduates admitted into the Bachelor of Business (C10026) in UTS Sydney campus.
