About the Speaker
Andrew Mead is a Partner of Ernst & Young where he leads the Financial Services Risk Advisory team in Oceania. His team is responsible for the provision of consulting services within the Financial Services sector delivering Actuarial, Risk Management and Assurance, Internal Auditing, and Cyber Security services. Andrew’s team is around 300 strong, and has grown by 50% over the last two years.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Economics degree from Macquarie University in 1990, Andrew became a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia in 1993. After ten years working in a broad based global financial services organisation, Andrew joined Ernst & Young in 2000. He was promoted to partnership in 2007.
Andrew is passionate about providing outstanding career opportunities for his teams, and takes pride in developing professional talent. This has included participation in formal actuarial education by way of tutoring, assignment and examination marking, and a year as Chief Examiner for Life Insurance for the Institute of Actuaries of Australia. Andrew’s passion also includes leadership of Ernst and Young’s actuarial practice, which strives to be the best employer of actuarial graduates in the Australian market.
