Overview
The Thales Senior Cooperative Scholarship aims to support applicants who are enrolled in the Bachelor of Engineering and have an interest in the ICT (software) and/or Electrical Engineering industry.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or the holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa; and
- Be enrolled full-time in one of the following UTS undergraduate degrees and relevant majors:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice or Engineering combined courses with Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice
- major in Data, Data Science, Electronic, Electrical, Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic, Mechanical and Mechatronic or Software Engineering; and
- have completed minimum 110CPs in the course; and
- have completed or be enrolled in 41035 Professional Practice Preparation 1, but have not completed 41036 Professional Experience 1; or
- have completed or be enrolled in 41045 Professional practice Preparation 2, but have not completed 41046 Professional Experience 2;
- Bachelor of Games Development[1], and have completed minimum 48CPs in the course;
- Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice or Engineering combined courses with Diploma in Professional Engineering Practice
- Have achieved a minimum of Credit Average (Weighted Average Mark 65 or above); and
- All candidates must apply using the UTS online Scholarships Application form to be eligible; and
- All candidates must be available to attend an interview in person (Online or face-to-face)
- Be available to start a placement in either Autumn or Spring for the year the scholarship is awarded, or as otherwise agreed.
[1] Recipients enrolled in this course will be required to enrol in the Diploma in Information Technology Professional Practice.

As demonstrated in the Scholarship application and interview:
- Academic merit (WAM)
- Motivation to succeed in the enrolled course at UTS
- Demonstrated interest in the Engineering Industry
- Demonstrated technical and soft skills and teamworking behaviours
- Demonstrated interest in Thales and the work they do
