Building 4 revs up for a refurb
November 2014
As relocating Faculty of Science staff move into their new spaces in Building 7, the builders are moving into Building 4, signalling the start of a major makeover.
The six-stage, two-year refurbishment will ensure that Building 4 enjoys the same standard of facilities, fixtures and technology as Building 7.
Staff located in Building 4 on levels 2, 3 and 4 – shortly to be renumbered 3, 4 and 5 – will have seen works signage going up over recent days, marking the start of Stage 1 of the refurb. Continuing until January 2015, the works will be restricted to self-contained areas to minimise disruption.
The contractor – Richard Crookes Constructions – having recently completed work on Building 7, is well aware of the needs of our community and will endeavor to ensure key teaching spaces are available at busy times and corridors are kept open.
Those staff who are affected by this work will be advised in advance. For safety’s sake, please keep an eye out for and follow the signage in the areas where work is underway.
Upcoming milestones:
- Refurbishment Stage 1 complete – January 2015
- Refurbishment Stage 2 begins – February 2015 onwards
