Chancellery and ACRI settle into their refurbished Tower spaces
December 2016
The ongoing Tower upgrade has signed off 2016 with the completion of two key spaces – the UTS Chancellery at the base of the Tower on podium levels 4A and 4B, and the new offices for the Australia China Relations Institute (ACRI) on level 18.
UTS Chancellery
Following the UTS Chancellery’s first major refurbishment in more than two decades, the senior executive and staff moved back in during early December – and found a very different space to the one they had left eight months earlier.
Gone are the dark spaces, outdated décor and choppy floor plan, which has been replaced by a light, bright layout designed to support connection and collaboration. Technology – including a ‘video wall’ for events and presentations (pictured) – is a feature of the space as is a new reception desk on level 4A, complete with a helpful receptionist.

The refurbished Chancellery also has four formal meeting rooms, which are reserved for meetings sponsored and attended by senior executives and Chancellery staff.
Thanks to UTS International and others working adjacent to the Chancellery for their patience and cooperation throughout the project.
Level 18 refurbishment
Staff from ACRI relocated to level 18 of the Tower in late November and are currently settling in to their workspace.
The space is distinguished by subtle Chinese references, as the photo shows, as well the creative use of glass panels to enhance connections between offices.

What’s next for the Tower?
While construction will be taking a break in the Tower for the next few weeks, UTS’s commitment to its interior upgrade continues. Watch this space for forthcoming projects in 2017.
