On 1 November, the doors of UTS’s new Science and Graduate School of Health Building opened to welcome its first occupants.
More than 250 staff and Higher Degree Research (HDR) students from the Faculty of Science and Graduate School of Health made the move into their new home over the last two weeks (October 31 and November 7, 2014). From all accounts, staff and students are settling in well.
Around 120 further staff and students will relocate from to Building 7 in January and February next year.
Staff are getting familiar with their new workstations and offices.

Complex commissioning ongoing
For AVS and ITD staff, there’s no time to take a breath just yet as they are now hard at work on the complex commissioning required by a building with a host of state-of-the-art spaces, including the giant Super Lab.
In addition, work is ongoing to ensure the level 3 café is ready for the arrival of hordes of hungry students at the commencement of Semester 1, 2015.
Staff and visitor access
To allow the final work on the building to be completed efficiently and safely, only Faculty of Science/GSH staff and HDRs currently have access, using their new staff/student cards. There is no public or general access until the start of teaching next semester.
