PrintJam 2020 was UTS ProtoSpace's inaugural Hackathon competition (29 June to 16 July).
ProtoSpace PrintJam 2020
Incredible innovations in just two weeks
All participants formed teams and in just two weeks they identified a problem, ideated a solution, and pitched incredible innovations to industry heavyweight panellists; all backed by an arsenal of ProtoSpace resources and technologies.
They were tasked to tackle problem spaces under three distinct categories:
- Remote aid
- Sustainability
- Transport
Winners were selected from each category, as well as an overall PrintJam 2020 Winner.
Printjam 2020 winners: Final Fight
As part of PRINTJAM 2020, we ran ProtoSpace Workshops.
These cover the 3D printing technology available at ProtoSpace, detailing capabilities as well as design limitations for each machine. UTS Startups also ran a Design Thinking Workshop detailing best-practice when it comes to fleshing out an idea.
Team consultations
In the second week of PRINTJAM, teams were encouraged to participate in consultation sessions. During these sessions, they dissected their problem spaces, considered better applications for their solutions and shaped how they were going to pitch.
Access to 3D printing technology for free
By participating in the PRINTJAM, participants had access to our array of high-end 3D printers for the development of their designed solution. At UTS ProtoSpace we have FDM, SLA, Multi-Jet Fusion and PolyJet 3D printing technology available for prototyping.
