Overview

The Sydney Mechanics' School of Arts Award for Achievement in Adult Education aims to attract and award those students making significant contributions in the community as adult educators, and achieving high academic performance in their postgraduate academic studies. For full details of the Prize please read the Conditions of Award.

Who is eligible?

The Recipient must:

  •  Be enrolled or completed in the last 6 months in:
    •  Master of TESOL and Applied Linguistics (C04305) or Master of TESOL and Applied Linguistics (Extension) (C04420); or
    •  MEd Learning and Leadership degree (C04427)
  • Have not received this award in the past

Selection process

Recipient Selection Criteria, In Priority Order

  • The prize will be awarded to the recipient of the highest GPA for the Master of TESOL and Applied Linguistics or Master of TESOL and Applied Linguistics (Extension) of the previous year.
  • The prize will be awarded to the recipient of the highest GPA for the MEd Learning and Leadership of the previous year.
  •  If two students have the same WAM for the above degrees, both will receive a cash prize of $500.

The Prize will be recommended by the School of International Studies and Education. Successful candidates will be approved by the Dean or their delegate in the UTS Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences.
